you are right, but the inverse doesn't have to be. There is a factor that could make the work so cheap, that people don't care about the quality anymore.

The only way that state would be sustainable is if we suddenly solved code vulnerabilities, or the damage they cause.

Have you considered the AI is right, and you make the mistakes?

Thank god. The fake search results, the money that manipulates our access to information. all gone. Finally we can try something else. I have a feeling it's going to be worse though.

It is a question in philosophy. It is the difference between being considered a conscious being, and not. Since for now our definitions of a conscious being is tied to being alive (when is a human alive and not death?). So obviously it has implications on ontological questions. It fundamentally limits our understanding of what exists and just as important, why we exist.

Are the concepts "conscious" and "life" linked at all?

Bacteria, fungus and plants are not usually seen as conscious but are usually seen as alive.

All conscious things are alive (unless AI is conscious) but not all alive things are conscious.

yeah, but he was biased against humans because of their smell. Though a virus might not be accurate.

The project isn't about research it's about creating a reference implementation

> The NTP Project conducts Research and Development in NTP, a protocol designed to synchronize the clocks of computers over a network to a common timebase.

Research is put front and centre in their pitch for funding.

This is probably research into protocol for time sync. Which works well for some scenarios, but not yet for others and can improve the reference implementation (I guess; I have no hard knowledge there).

And given that ntp.org runs servers that so many organizations use they should be near the top of the funding queue for any NTP research. My 2c.

What's the distinction from NIST's internet time service?

stop smoking it then?

take your own advice

in the Netherlands the state managed housing is the best. While private renters skirt their responsibilities, and enforcing a contractual is hard.

I have no ball in this game, as I am non-US. but sounds like the same can be said. Just wait until the FBI starts harassing your family outside their lawful jurisdiction. Or an FBI agent abusing their family. But at least your children will be safe from the dangerous streets...

They get their guy at all costs and will trample innocent people to do it. Many times, even often and predictably, they will extort oranipulate people into putting themselves in harms way to obtain their objectives. I didn't say the FBI is all unicorns and rainbows.

Being this judgemental is sad. But as you said it reflects on your ability to square his decisions with the situation.
