I feel they are being short sighted about this. Sure, protect the broadcasters who have spent lots of money on their rights to the coverage, and certainly crack down on unauthorised broadcasts of entire events.
But … banning athletes showing their winning performances at a time where people will be checking their social media, when the public are at their most interested in sport and the athletes, is against the spirit of the Games, and a missed opportunity.
