It's the hacker mindset -- and this is hackernews after all. Isn't this kind of like walking into a wood shop and saying, "you know you guys can just buy this stuff at Ikea, right?".
Worse: this is like walking into a wood shop and claiming that you can just buy this at the IKEA, when the maker of this piece of furniture knows for a fact that IKEA doesn't carry anything remotely similar and will not do so for a long time.
