Pixel watch charger burned and melted my watch (reddit.com)

I have had a similar type of problem with customer service not taking it very seriously. After a month of getting the run-around I called one last time, gave them the case number, and cut them off mid sentence to say, "No, I just need to know the best contact address to send correspondence from my legal counsel". I got a phone call two hours later asking where to send a replacement product and a return label for the original product so they could inspect it to find the failure mode.

Wireless charging of personal electronics is slower than cable and heats the device more. Apple added glass back to their iphones to enable wireless charging and now these premium smartphones are crackable like a cheapest glass from IKEA. Why do we need this feature?!

I once went hiking in the mountains and when it started getting late and my phone would run out of battery due to flashlight usage, I realized I forgot connector cable for my power bank which happened to also have wireless charging. Although it was super slow compared to wired, I was able to get just enough juice to get back not in complete darkness. Quite an edge case but yeah.

I'd say it's also convenient to just put phone on some charging surface if you don't mind the slower pace, than to mess with cables - maybe it's not such a problem with USB-C but with Micro USB part of the socket would die every time you plugged in the cable.

Well the usual use case is one full charging per day in room temperature.
